Four weeks into city life!
Share
It's been such a whirlwind since moving shop and house to Canterbury (and a little dose of silly old Covid didn't help!) There have been scaffolding and painting delays, but the shop front is now a lovely shade of soft grey, and my sign was handpainted this week, so things are starting to settle and the shop finally feels 'proper'.
I'm now fully up and running, open seven days a week, and starting to get a feel for city life. I'm incredibly lucky to be able to walk along Canterbury's ancient city wall every day on my stomp to work, and I don't think I will ever tire of it. There are far worse commutes!
The people of Canterbury have been incredibly welcoming, and I have been lucky enough to have had quite a few of my lovely Cranbrook customers visiting me too.
I am so excited (and a little daunted) to be working on my Christmas window props this week. I normally prepare months before this, but all of the disruption got in the way, and I think the winter months have crept up on us all after such a gorgeous October. I also decided last week that I no longer like the plan that I made for it in July! I've had a fun idea however, and am working all hours to draw and cut out all of the paper shapes, so it should be a jolly one.
I'll be installing the window display on Friday 11th November, and as it always takes me a really long time, I'll be here until 7.30pm, and it would be fab to see some happy customers! In traditional H&G style, we'll have prosecco and nibbles for you to enjoy whilst you shop, plus 10% off all stock between 5pm and 7.30pm. Come and get a sneak peek of my festive window display and make a start on that pesky Christmas shopping!
Hope to see you there!
With love,
Kate x
